Please note that this is a virtual training taught by an instructor via a video conferencing service. Class size is limited to 15 participants per Segment. SEGMENT SUMMARIES
Segment l
Segment I (Initial Training for Instructors, Directors, and/or Instructional Coaches) This is the first of two segments that outlines the basics of using the WEE Learn Curriculum. Through interactive discussion and practical application activities, participants will gain an understanding of the following topics: Curriculum Overview; Foundation, Philosophy, and Purpose; Diversity; Literacy and Math; Understanding the Planning Guides; Lesson Planning and Application to State Standards.
Segment II
Segment II (Initial Training for Instructors, Directors, and/or Instructional Coaches) This is the second of two segments that outlines the basics of using the WEE Learn Curriculum. Through interactive discussion and practical application activities, participants will gain an understanding of the following topics: Interweaving Faith and Values; Effective Use of Learning Centers; Importance of Classroom Arrangement; Assessment Tips and Tools; Practical Communication with Parents (Prerequisite is Segment I)
Segment III
Segment III (Initial Training for Directors and/or Instructional Coaches; Suggested Ongoing training for Instructors) The third segment is designed to provide additional information and resources to expand the effective use of the curriculum. Through interactive discussion and practical application activities, participants will gain understanding of the following topics: Making the Most of the Curriculum; Compatible Resources for Expanding the Curriculum; Curriculum Use Q & A; Coaching Strategies; Planning for the Next Step. (Prerequisite is Segment I & II)
Only Segments I & II are required to finalize Florida State/Coalition School Readiness Contracts. Segment III may be taken during the school year.
Each Segment is six hours of training.
